Golden Bay Plumbing & Gas

We are taking a break over Christmas and New Year. We will close at 12pm on Friday, 20 December 2024 and will reopen on Monday, 13 January 2025. Barry will still be available for urgent callouts during our closure period, however his time for any callouts will be charged at a double-time rate. We wish you a safe and happy holiday season.

Depending on the particular job we will either:

Charge for our time, including travel time. Materials and travel costs are additional and will be charged separately.

Provide a quote for the entire job.

Hourly charge out rates

We strive to provide a top quality service at a competitive rate.

Our labour for plumbing, gasfitting and drainlaying services during standard business hours is $90 + GST per hour.

We have a minimum charge out rate of one hour. After the first hour our time will be charged in 15 minute increments. Our labour time includes the time spent travelling to and from the site, and any time spent obtaining materials for the work.

All jobs will also incur travel costs and material costs (if used).

Weekends, public holiday and afterhours callouts

We provide an afterhours callout service for urgent plumbing, gas and drainage issues.

For an afterhours callout our time is charged on a time-and-a-half basis ($135 + GST per hour).

‘Afterhours’ are weekdays before 8am or after 5pm, weekends and public holidays.

Invoices are usually required to be paid within 14 days of being issued. Invoices that are not paid by the due date will incur interest. If debt collection is necessary, you will be charged for the debt collection fees in addition to the unpaid invoice and interest. Please see our terms of trade for full details.

“We had trouble with our aerator septic tank which was installed and maintained by a company for over 4 years with this tank breaking down and no help from the septic tank providers. We had had enough, so decided to look for a local plumber to help us. We met Barry for initial meeting and from there he helped us come up with a solution of how to solve the septic issue and from here we haven’t looked back no blocked systems and we are all go. Barry has always been there when we have asked him and always very friendly and happy to help. We are definitely going to miss him up here in the North so you are very lucky South Islanders, you have got yourselves one fantastic plumber.”
